    Ingredients

    • 1 pound ground sausage

    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

    • 2 cups milk

    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    • 1/4 teaspoon salt

    • 8 count refrigerated biscuit dough

    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    Directions

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
    • In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until brown and crumbly, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
    • Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the cooked sausage, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes until the flour is absorbed.
    • Gradually stir in the milk, adding a little at a time to avoid lumps, and cook until the mixture thickens into a gravy.
    • Season the gravy with black pepper and salt, adjusting to taste, then remove from heat.
    • Cut each biscuit dough piece into quarters and spread them out evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
    • Pour the sausage gravy evenly over the biscuit pieces, ensuring that all the biscuits are covered with gravy.
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole for added flavor and richness.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the biscuits are golden brown.
    • Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set slightly.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
