Mushroom Asiago Chicken

Healthy Fact of the Day

Chicken breast provides lean protein for muscle health, while mushrooms offer selenium and B vitamins. Asiago cheese adds calcium and has a bold flavor, so a little goes a long way for maximum taste impact.

This Mushroom Asiago Chicken elevates simple chicken breasts into restaurant-quality dining with a luxuriously creamy sauce that’s rich with earthy mushrooms and sharp Asiago cheese. The chicken gets perfectly golden and tender while the sauce develops deep, savory flavors that coat every bite. It’s elegant enough for company yet simple enough for busy weeknights when you want something special without the fuss.

If you love creamy chicken dishes with bold flavors, try our Creamy Asiago Chicken for another take on this winning cheese combination. For a different but equally indulgent approach, our Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce offers tender chicken in a tangy, herb-infused cream sauce that’s just as satisfying.

    Ingredients

    • 4 pieces chicken breasts

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

    • 1 cup heavy cream

    • 1 cup shredded Asiago cheese

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 teaspoon salt

    • 0.5 teaspoon pepper

    • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

    Directions

    • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Carefully place chicken breasts in the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
    • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are tender and lightly browned, approximately 5 minutes.
    • Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
    • Gradually add shredded Asiago cheese to the sauce, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
    • Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the mushroom Asiago sauce. Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 5 minutes to allow flavors to combine.
    • Garnish the chicken with chopped parsley before serving to add a fresh touch and extra flavor.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Chili’s Just Declared War on Fast Food Chicken Sandwiches — With Six Variations and a $10.99 Meal

The Spicy Big Crispy is one of the more balanced options in the lineup — the spicy mayo adds bold flavor without the additional fat and sodium of the Club’s bacon and cheese. If you’re ordering the 3 For Me meal, the bottomless chips and salsa are easy to mindlessly overeat before the main course arrives — asking for the chips after your sandwich comes out rather than at the start is a simple way to enjoy the perk without using it as a pre-meal appetizer. And choosing water or unsweetened iced tea over a fountain drink saves meaningful added sugar while still getting the value of the unlimited beverage included in the meal.

Five Ways to Use Cottage Cheese That Are Actually Worth the Hype

Cottage cheese earns its viral moment nutritionally — a single cup delivers around 25 grams of protein, which rivals chicken breast ounce for ounce. It’s also high in casein protein, which digests slowly and keeps you full significantly longer than whey-based sources. Look for full-fat or 2% versions rather than fat-free — the fat helps with satiety and carries the flavor in a way the fat-free version simply doesn’t. If sodium is a concern, give it a quick rinse in a fine mesh strainer, which removes a meaningful amount without affecting texture.
