    Ingredients

    • 4 oz silver tequila

    • 2 oz triple sec

    • 3 oz fresh lime juice

    • 2 oz simple syrup

    • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

    • 6 leaves fresh basil

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Panera Is Putting a Limit on Its Sip Club — And Members Are Not Happy

If the Sip Club change has you rethinking your Panera routine, it might be a good opportunity to evaluate what you’re actually drinking. Soft drinks and sweetened beverages — even from a subscription — add up quickly in sugar and empty calories. Thirty drinks per month at Panera is still a meaningful number, and using those credits on unsweetened iced tea, sparkling water, or lemonade rather than fountain soda is an easy way to get the value of the membership while making a healthier choice. If the cap makes the subscription less worthwhile for you, investing those $14.99 per month in a home cold brew setup or a quality reusable bottle might serve your hydration habits better in the long run.

The Afternoon Cook: What Happens When You Have More Time Than Usual

Research on meal preparation behavior consistently finds that cooks who engage in advance preparation — cooking components or full dishes hours before eating rather than immediately before — make significantly healthier ingredient choices than those who cook under time pressure. The cognitive load of hungry, time-pressured cooking produces a well-documented tendency toward high-calorie, high-sodium convenience shortcuts that relaxed, advance cooking avoids. The afternoon spent cooking is, in nutritional terms, an investment that pays dividends in the specific quality of food that unhurried attention to ingredients and technique produces.
