    Ingredients

    • 2 lbs smoked pulled pork

    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    • 1 medium onion, diced

    • 1 large green bell pepper, chopped

    • 3 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 15 oz can crushed tomatoes

    • 1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained

    • 1 15 oz can black beans, drained

    • 2 tbsp chili powder

    • 1 tsp cumin

    • 1 tsp smoked paprika

    • 1 tsp salt

    • 0.5 tsp black pepper

    • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

    • 2 cups beef stock

    Directions

    • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and chopped bell pepper, cooking for about 5 minutes until softened.
    • Add minced garlic to the pot and cook for an additional minute until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic.
    • Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, cooking for another minute to release the spices’ flavors.
    • Add the smoked pulled pork to the pot, stirring well to combine with the spices and vegetables.
    • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef stock, then add the drained kidney and black beans, stirring everything together.
    • Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
    • Taste the chili and adjust seasoning if necessary. For more heat, add additional cayenne pepper to taste.
    • Serve the smoked pulled pork chili hot, with your choice of toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.

This Smoked Pulled Pork Chili is a game-changer that combines the best of BBQ and comfort food in one incredible bowl. Tender smoked pulled pork brings rich, meaty flavor and that signature smoky depth that makes every spoonful irresistible, while kidney and black beans add hearty texture and substance. The blend of warm spices—chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika—creates layers of complex flavor that develop beautifully during the long simmer, resulting in a chili that’s both familiar and excitingly different from traditional versions.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

One Bag of Frozen Peas, Five Meals That Are Actually Worth Making

Frozen peas are nutritionally on par with fresh — and in some cases better, since they’re frozen within hours of harvest before nutrient degradation can set in. A cup delivers around 8 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber, which is unusually high for a vegetable. They’re also one of the few plant-based sources of complete protein, containing all nine essential amino acids. Add them to meals at the very end of cooking — they only need 2–3 minutes of heat and overcooking drains both their color and their nutritional value.

The Summer’s End Pantry: What to Stock Before the Season Changes

Freezing peak-season produce at its nutritional peak preserves significantly more vitamins and antioxidants than purchasing the same produce fresh but out of season. Research on frozen versus fresh produce consistently finds that produce frozen within hours of harvest retains nutritional quality comparable to or exceeding that of fresh produce stored for several days — meaning that frozen August corn or frozen peak-season blueberries may be more nutritious than their fresh counterparts available in winter, not less.
