    Ingredients

    • 1 pound ground beef

    • 1 packet taco seasoning

    • 1/2 cup water

    • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

    • 1 cup sour cream

    • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies

    • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

    • 1 bag Doritos, crushed

    Directions

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prepare for the casserole.
    • Brown the ground beef over medium heat in a skillet until fully cooked, then drain any excess fat from the pan.
    • Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet with browned beef, stirring to fully coat, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and diced tomatoes with green chilies, mixing well.
    • Layer half of the crushed Doritos across the bottom of the prepared baking dish, evenly spreading them out.
    • Spread the ground beef mixture over the Doritos in the baking dish, ensuring an even layer across all parts.
    • Pour the soup mixture over the beef layer, making sure it’s evenly covered before moving to the next step.
    • Top the casserole with the remaining crushed Doritos followed by the shredded cheddar cheese spread across the top.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly on top.
    • Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving to ensure it sets properly and is easier to dish out.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
