Wendy’s Just Added 7 New Items to Its Spring Menu — Including a Permanent New Frosty

Healthy Fact of the Day

When adding heat to a meal, jalapeños are actually a surprisingly nutritious choice — they're low in calories and contain capsaicin, a compound that may support metabolism and reduce inflammation. If you're building a spicier fast food order, pairing a jalapeño-topped item with water instead of a sugary drink is an easy way to keep the meal more balanced while still enjoying the heat. And if you end up ordering the Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion, opting for a small size is a great way to satisfy the craving without going overboard on calories.

Wendy’s spring menu just landed, and it’s a bigger update than the chain usually drops in one shot.

Seven new items go live at Wendy’s nationwide on Monday, April 27, spanning lunch, breakfast, and dessert. The lineup leans hard into two flavor directions — jalapeño heat and watermelon refreshment — plus a new Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion that’s already available for Loyalty Members today via the app.

Here’s everything that’s coming.

The New Jalapeño Items (Limited Time)

Wendy’s is bringing jalapeño slices to the menu for the first time across three new items, all available for a limited time.

Jalapeño Ranch Cheeseburger — Wendy’s signature fresh-never-frozen square beef patty topped with jalapeño ranch sauce, jalapeño rings, and American cheese. The jalapeño ranch is doing double duty here — heat and creaminess in the same condiment.

Jalapeño Bacon Breakfast Potatoes — Wendy’s seasoned breakfast potatoes upgraded with jalapeños, applewood-smoked bacon, and Swiss cheese. A solid step up from the standard side for anyone who wants breakfast with some kick.

Jalapeño Breakfast Biscuit — A breakfast sandwich built with your choice of sausage or bacon, a fresh-cracked Grade A egg, American cheese, and jalapeños on a buttery, flaky biscuit. Available in two versions — sausage or bacon — depending on preference.

Three New Watermelon Beverages (Limited Time)

Three new watermelon-flavored drinks round out the limited-time lineup, all joining Wendy’s existing Sparkling Energy and Dave’s Craft Lemonade platforms.

Watermelon Lemonade — A seasonal addition to Wendy’s craft lemonade line, blending watermelon flavor into the chain’s signature lemonade base.

Watermelon Sparkling Energy — A caffeinated sparkling energy drink with watermelon flavor, joining the Sparkling Energy lineup that Wendy’s has been building out this year.

Sprite Watermelon — A Sprite-based watermelon drink rounding out the trio for fans who prefer a more classic soda format.

The Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion — And It’s Permanent

The headline dessert addition is the Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion, and unlike the jalapeño and watermelon items, this one is sticking around. Wendy’s confirmed it’s joining the permanent core menu.

The Frosty Fusion swirls cookie dough pieces and brownie batter sauce into your choice of Vanilla or Chocolate Frosty base. It follows the wildly popular Thin Mints Frosty Fusion from earlier this year, which was always going to be a tough act to follow — but cookie dough plus brownie batter plus Frosty is a pretty compelling answer.

Wendy’s Loyalty Members can order it early right now through the Wendy’s app. For everyone else, it hits locations nationwide April 27.

The Bigger Picture

The jalapeño push fits a clear pattern across fast food this spring — Chick-fil-A recently added a Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich, and Taco Bell launched Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets. Spicy and “swicy” flavor profiles are dominating QSR menus heading into summer, and Wendy’s is fully leaning in.

The watermelon beverage lineup is a smart seasonal play as temperatures rise, and the permanent Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion gives the chain a long-term dessert anchor to replace the seasonal Thin Mints slot.

The Bottom Line

Wendy’s seven new spring items — three jalapeño dishes, three watermelon drinks, and the Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion — launch nationwide April 27. Loyalty Members can get early access to the Cookie Dough Frosty Fusion through the Wendy’s app today. The jalapeño and watermelon items are limited time; the Frosty Fusion is permanent.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

One Can of Coconut Milk, Five Completely Different Uses

Canned coconut milk is higher in saturated fat than most plant-based milks, but a little goes a long way — and the payoff in flavor means you’re not reaching for butter or heavy cream to get the same richness. If you want a lighter option, look for “lite” coconut milk, which has significantly less fat and still works well in soups, rice, and chia pudding. For the whipped cream, though, you’ll want the full-fat version — lite won’t whip up the same way.
