The Purple Oreos Just Landed in Stores — Plus Dunkin’ Has an Oreo Menu Right Now and KFC’s $5 Tenders Deal Ends Today

Healthy Fact of the Day

Limited-edition cookies and specialty drinks are best enjoyed mindfully — the BTS Oreos are a genuinely unique flavor worth trying, but a serving is three cookies, not the whole pack. If you're pairing them with a Dunkin' Oreo drink today, consider sizing down to a small or medium — the flavor is the same, just in a more manageable portion. And if you're squeezing in the KFC tenders tonight, opting for a side of green beans instead of mashed potatoes is an easy swap that keeps the protein-forward meal more balanced overall.

A lot is happening in food today. Here’s everything worth knowing.

Oreo x BTS: The Purple Cookies Are in Stores Now

They’re here. The Limited Edition OREO & BTS Cookies officially hit retailer shelves nationwide today, June 8 — and if you’ve been waiting, this is your window before they sell out.

The collaboration is Oreo’s largest global launch ever, rolling out simultaneously across 80+ countries. For context, that dwarfs even the brand’s high-profile Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga partnerships. And the product itself is genuinely interesting beyond the fandom angle.

What Makes These Different

The cookies feature Oreo’s first-ever purple wafers — a direct nod to BTS’s signature fan color — filled with a brown sugar pancake crème inspired by hotteok, the beloved Korean street snack. Hotteok is a yeasted, fried pancake typically filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts, and it’s deeply connected to childhood food culture in South Korea.

“We wanted to share with everyone the kinds of dessert flavors Koreans enjoy,” said BTS member Jin in the official press release. The flavor was developed as a tribute to the band members’ own childhood memories.

The crème is warmer and more caramel-adjacent than standard Oreo filling — less sweet-and-neutral, more brown sugar and spice. If you’ve had hotteok before, you’ll recognize the flavor direction. If you haven’t, it’s a genuinely different experience from any other Oreo on the shelf.

The 13 Collectible Embossments

In honor of BTS’s 13th anniversary since their 2013 debut, the cookies feature 13 unique designs personally sketched by the band members: all seven members’ names (RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook), the iconic ARMY Bomb light stick, the BTS logo, and three special cookies that, when lined up together, reveal a hidden message to fans — “Dear BTS Army, Every Twist Leads to Us.”

Embossments are randomized per pack, so the three-cookie message becomes a collect-them-all mechanic that will drive multiple purchases among devoted fans.

The Interactive Fan Campaign

Scan the QR code on the packaging or visit us.OREOBTS.com to contribute to what Oreo is calling “the world’s largest love letter to BTS” — a global fan campaign inspired by the fandom’s letter-writing tradition. It’s a nice addition that gives non-fans a reason to engage with the product beyond just eating it.

Where to Find Them

The Limited Edition OREO & BTS Cookies are available now at retailers nationwide, priced at approximately $5.49 per pack, for a limited time while supplies last. They were available for presale at OREO.com starting June 1 — today is the official retail launch date.

Dunkin’ Has an Oreo Menu Right Now — And a Bucket Worth Knowing About

Here’s the connection worth making: while the BTS Oreos are flying off shelves today, Dunkin’ has been running a full Oreo-inspired drinks menu since April 29 — and it’s still very much live.

The Oreo Drinks at Dunkin’

Dunkin’s summer 2026 menu includes a full Oreo collaboration lineup: an Oreo Cloud Latte (espresso with chocolate cookie flavors, marshmallow cold foam, and Oreo crumbles), an Oreo Coolatta, an Oreo Matcha, and an Oreo Coffee Chiller — a frozen coffee with chocolate cookie swirl, whipped cream, and Oreo pieces.

For anyone who buys the BTS Oreo cookies today and then wants an Oreo-themed drink to go with them, Dunkin’ is the move.

The Cherry Lime Rickey and Other Summer Highlights

Dunkin’ also launched a new Black Cherry Refresher flavor this summer, featured in four drinks: the Cherry Lime Rickey Refresher, Cherry Daydream Refresher, Very Cherry Daydream Refresher, and Cherry Protein Daydream Refresher.

Dunkin’s Dirty Soda uses Pepsi as a base, mixed with Dunkin’ coffee milk and topped with sweet cold foam — one of the more creative dirty soda interpretations from a national chain.

The Bucket Is Back — 25 Per Store Per Day

Dunkin’ has also brought back its viral 48-oz Iced Beverage Bucket, available for $12.99 filled with iced coffee or a Refresher, with a limit of 25 per store per day while supplies last. The scarcity is real — if you want one, the Dunkin’ app is your best tool for checking availability before making the trip.

Last Chance Today: KFC’s $5 Five Tenders Deal Ends Tonight

Quick but important: KFC Rewards members can get five Original Recipe Chicken Tenders for $5 today only — June 8 is the last day of the offer. Redeem through the KFC app or website. If you haven’t used it yet, tonight is your last window.

The Bottom Line

Three things happening in food today: the BTS Oreos just hit shelves and will go fast, Dunkin’s Oreo-themed summer drinks are still very much live and pair perfectly with the moment, and KFC’s $5 five-tenders deal expires tonight. A lot to take advantage of before the day is over.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Ingredient That Divided Empires and United Tables

Many of the spices that drove the historic spice trade contain bioactive compounds with well-documented health effects. Piperine in black pepper significantly enhances the bioavailability of other nutrients including curcumin from turmeric — which is why black pepper and turmeric appear together in traditional Ayurvedic preparations and in contemporary nutritional recommendations. Cinnamaldehyde in cinnamon has demonstrated effects on blood sugar regulation in multiple clinical studies. Eugenol in cloves has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that partially explain the historical use of cloves as a food preservative. The spices that people fought wars to control were, it turns out, genuinely valuable — in ways that extend beyond flavor.
