    Ingredients

    • 4 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed

    • 1/4 cup maple syrup

    • 1/2 cup milk

    • 1/3 cup butter, melted

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • 1/2 tsp salt

    • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

    • 1/4 cup brown sugar

    • 1/4 cup flour

    Directions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large pot, boil sweet potato cubes until tender, about 15 minutes.
    • Drain sweet potatoes and mash them in a mixing bowl. Add maple syrup, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing well.
    • Transfer the mashed mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading evenly. Prepare the pecan topping separately in a small bowl.
    • Mix chopped pecans, brown sugar, and flour for the topping. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
