KFC Just Announced a Supergirl Collab — Including Three New Sauces and a Collectible Bucket

Healthy Fact of the Day

When ordering from a combo meal, the sides you choose make a significant difference in the overall nutritional profile of your meal. KFC's green beans and corn on the cob are among the lower-calorie, lower-sodium side options and are worth considering alongside the tenders or nuggets. Choosing the Combo Meal over the Ultimate Meal also saves a side and skips the boba drink — a meaningful calorie reduction if you're watching your intake. The new character-inspired sauces are a fun way to add flavor without dramatically changing the calorie count, since a single dipping sauce portion is typically 40–80 calories.

KFC is going full superhero this summer.

The chain officially announced its collaboration with DC Studios’ upcoming Supergirl film yesterday, and it’s more than just themed packaging. Two new meals, three brand-new character-inspired dipping sauces, a new boba drink, five blind-bagged collectible keychains, and an ultra-limited Krypto Collectible Bucket are all part of the launch — which kicks off June 8 at participating locations nationwide, ahead of Supergirl’s theatrical release on June 26.

It also marks KFC’s first film-inspired collectible campaign in more than 20 years.

The Two Supergirl Meals

KFC Supergirl Ultimate Meal — The more loaded of the two, featuring your choice of three Original Recipe Tenders or eight Nuggets, a biscuit, two sides, all three new Supergirl dipping sauces, and a 21-oz Kryptonian Kooler. Every Ultimate Meal also comes with one blind-bagged collectible keychain — more on those below.

KFC Supergirl Combo Meal — A slightly lighter build: your choice of three Original Recipe Tenders or eight Nuggets, a biscuit, one side, all three Supergirl sauces, and a regular fountain drink. The Combo Meal does not include a keychain.

Both meals are available June 8 at participating locations nationwide for a limited time.

The New Kryptonian Kooler

The drinks don’t stop at fountain soda. The Kryptonian Kooler is a brand-new beverage exclusive to the Supergirl collaboration — an electric-blue mix of Starry soda, blue raspberry syrup, and clear strawberry boba. It’s included with the Ultimate Meal or available à la carte, and it’s the most visually striking beverage KFC has offered in recent memory.

Three New Character-Inspired Sauces

All three new sauces debut exclusively with the Supergirl meals and are included with both the Ultimate and Combo orders:

Supergirl’s Solar Honey Mustard — A sweet-heat honey mustard inspired by Supergirl’s sun-powered abilities. Mild enough to work as a dipping sauce for nuggets or tenders, with enough flavor to stand on its own.

Ruthye’s Sweet Chili Revenge — A sweet chili garlic sauce inspired by Ruthye, Supergirl’s companion in the film. The garlic base gives it more depth than a standard sweet chili, and it’s the one most likely to become a repeat request.

Lobo’s Wild Ranch — A ranch sauce elevated with sesame and poppy seeds, inspired by the film’s villain Lobo (played by Jason Momoa). It’s the most unexpected of the three — taking a familiar flavor and making it genuinely interesting.

Five Blind-Bagged Collectible Keychains

Every Supergirl Ultimate Meal includes one blind-bagged collectible keychain featuring one of five characters: Supergirl (two versions), Lobo, Ruthye, and Krypto. The blind-bag format means you won’t know which character you’re getting until you open it — a repeat-visit mechanic that collectors will recognize immediately.

The Krypto Collectible Bucket ($29.99) — June 10 Only

Two days after the meals launch, on June 10, KFC is dropping its Supergirl Krypto Collectible Bucket — a $29.99 reusable bucket featuring Supergirl-themed artwork and a Puppy Krypto-inspired lid. The bucket can be used for chicken, popcorn, or other snacks, though it’s not microwave safe.

The bucket is described as “ultra-limited” and available while supplies last — which, given the appetite for collectible movie buckets right now, means getting to the drive-thru early on June 10 is the smart move. The collectible bucket trend has exploded at movie theaters over the past two years, and KFC entering that space with a DC Studios tie-in is a notable moment for the format outside of cinema contexts.

About the Film

Supergirl stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El and Jason Momoa as the villain Lobo, directed by Craig Gillespie. It is the second film in DC Studios’ rebooted DC Universe following last year’s Superman, opening exclusively in theaters and IMAX on June 26.

The Bottom Line

KFC’s Supergirl collaboration launches June 8 at participating locations nationwide with two new meals, three character-inspired sauces, the Kryptonian Kooler drink, and five blind-bagged collectible keychains. The ultra-limited Krypto Collectible Bucket drops June 10 for $29.99 while supplies last. Supergirl hits theaters June 26.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Food of Summer Evenings: What to Cook When Time Slows Down

The Mediterranean evening meal pattern — characterized by a long, gradual meal with multiple small courses, eaten slowly over one to two hours, often outdoors in the company of others — has been associated in nutritional research with lower rates of overeating, better digestion, and greater meal satisfaction compared to the rushed, single-course meal common in Northern European and American eating patterns. The pace of the meal, not just its content, affects how much is eaten and how satisfying the eating experience is — making the summer evening long table a health practice as much as a social one.
