Krispy Kreme Is Dropping a Pokémon Doughnut Collection Monday — And There Are Six of Them

Healthy Fact of the Day

With six doughnuts in the Pokémon collection, the Krispy Kreme Dozen is designed for sharing — and sharing is genuinely the healthiest way to enjoy a collab lineup like this one. Splitting the dozen across a group of six means one character doughnut each, which is a perfectly reasonable treat. The Charmander doughnut's filled format means it's more substantial than the glazed varieties — a single Charmander alongside a coffee is a satisfying treat that doesn't require working through more than one doughnut to feel the full experience. And the free Original Glazed on August 22 is one of the lower-calorie Krispy Kreme options at around 190 calories — a smart choice for the freebie day.

Gotta catch them all — starting Monday.

Krispy Kreme’s new Pokémon Doughnut Collection launches August 18 at Krispy Kreme shops nationwide and select grocery retailers, timed to Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. Six limited-edition doughnuts, each inspired by one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, plus five collectible Pokémon cups and a one-day free doughnut offer for fans who show up in their Pokémon gear.

This is one of Krispy Kreme’s largest single-character launches in recent memory — most seasonal collections run three to four flavors. Six is a statement.

The Six Doughnuts

Poké Ball Doughnut — The anchor of the collection: an Original Glazed doughnut decorated with vanilla-flavored icing, red sprinkles, and piped chocolate icing to create the iconic red-and-white Poké Ball design.

Bulbasaur Doughnut — An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in vanilla icing and topped with a frosting leaf design and a Bulbasaur character piece. The most understated of the six.

Charmander Doughnut — The most interesting flavor of the lineup: a shell doughnut filled with chocolate and toasted marshmallow-flavored filling, dipped in orange caramel icing, and decorated with red and gold sugar sparks and a Charmander piece. The s’mores-adjacent flavor combination is a smart fit for the fire-type starter.

Squirtle Doughnut — An Original Glazed doughnut piped with cotton candy-flavored buttercream, dipped in sanding sugar and nonpareils, and topped with a surfing Squirtle piece. The cotton candy buttercream is the most unexpected flavor in the collection.

Jigglypuff Doughnut — An Original Glazed doughnut piped with strawberry-flavored buttercream, sprinkled with strawberry-flavored cookie pieces, and topped with a Jigglypuff decal. Pink, fruity, and exactly on-brand for the character.

Pikachu Doughnut — A lemon Kreme-filled doughnut dipped in vanilla icing, decorated with lightning-shaped nonpareils, and topped with a Pikachu piece. The citrus filling makes it the brightest flavor in the lineup — fitting for the franchise’s most iconic character.

How to Get Them

At Krispy Kreme shops: Available à la carte or as the special Pokémon Dozen — all six character doughnuts plus Original Glazed doughnuts in special-edition Pokémon packaging. The dozen is the play for collectors and households with more than one Pokémon fan.

At grocery retailers: Six-packs featuring the Charmander, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Poké Ball doughnuts alongside two Original Glazed.

Collectible Pokémon cups: Five limited-edition cups, each filled with 10 Original Glazed Gold Dots — a shareable format that doubles as a collectible.

The Free Doughnut Offer — August 22 Only

On Friday, August 22, any customer who visits a Krispy Kreme shop or drive-thru wearing Pokémon merchandise receives one free Original Glazed Doughnut. No purchase required. This applies to anything Pokémon-branded — a shirt, a hat, a backpack. Friday is the day to dig through your closet.

The Bottom Line

Krispy Kreme’s Pokémon Doughnut Collection — six character-inspired doughnuts plus collectible cups — launches Monday, August 18 at shops nationwide and select grocery retailers. The Pokémon Dozen is available at Krispy Kreme locations while supplies last. Show up in Pokémon gear on August 22 for a free Original Glazed. This one will move fast.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Olive Oil Harvest: Why the Freshest Bottle on the Shelf Is Always the Best One

Extra virgin olive oil’s health benefits are substantially dependent on its polyphenol content — specifically the compounds oleocanthal, oleuropein, and hydroxytyrosol that are responsible for its anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular-protective effects. Research has found that the polyphenol content of olive oil decreases by approximately forty percent in the first year after pressing and continues to decline thereafter, meaning that fresh, high-polyphenol extra virgin olive oil provides substantially greater health benefits than aged or degraded oil of equivalent volume. The PREDIMED study — the landmark clinical trial demonstrating the cardiovascular benefits of the Mediterranean diet — used high-polyphenol extra virgin olive oil as the primary fat, and the specific health benefits observed in the study may not be replicable with the aged, low-polyphenol olive oil that constitutes most of the commercial supply.
