Denny’s Just Threw Out the Rulebook — Pancakes at Midnight, Steak at 2 PM, No Questions Asked

Healthy Fact of the Day

An all-day menu with no mealtime restrictions is a fun concept — and it can actually work in your favor nutritionally if you use it wisely. Ordering a breakfast plate like eggs, bacon, and hash browns for dinner is often a lighter choice than a burger or steak, since traditional breakfast items tend to be lower in overall calories. The Country Fried Steak & Eggs and Moons Over My Hammy are both protein-forward options that can serve as a satisfying dinner without the heavier calorie load of the burger lineup. If you're drawn to the Strawberry Cheesecake Scoop Slam, consider sharing it — the dessert-on-pancakes concept is genuinely indulgent, and splitting it with someone lets you enjoy the experience without the full calorie commitment.

Denny’s has always been a 24-hour diner. Now it’s making that identity official.

The Clock’s Off Menu launched June 24 at participating Denny’s locations nationwide, and the premise couldn’t be simpler: breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites are all available simultaneously, any time of day or night, with zero mealtime restrictions. Want ice cream pancakes at midnight? Done. A sirloin steak at noon? The kitchen is ready. A Slamburger before sunrise? Pull up a booth.

The menu combines new additions with longtime Denny’s staples — and two new options have been added to the Slammin’ Meal Deals Under $10 lineup alongside it.

The New Items

Strawberry Cheesecake Scoop Slam — The headline new addition and the most visually striking item on the menu. Two buttermilk pancakes baked with cheesecake bites, topped with premium strawberry ice cream, more cheesecake bites, vanilla cream, and strawberry sauce — served alongside two eggs, two strips of applewood-smoked bacon or two all-pork sausage links, and crispy hash browns. It’s dessert for breakfast, or breakfast for dessert, depending entirely on when you show up.

Salted Caramel Cold Brew Shake — Premium vanilla ice cream blended with cold brew coffee and caramel syrup, topped with whipped cream and a sea salt caramel drizzle. Coffee and dessert in one glass — a natural for the late-night Denny’s crowd.

BBQ Cookout Classic Burger — A 6-oz beef patty with white cheddar, American cheese, BBQ sauce, pickles, and two crispy-fried onion rings on a brioche bun, served with wavy-cut fries. A summer cookout burger, diner-style.

Diner Dipper Selections — A new build-your-own appetizer format featuring Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sliders; Cheesy Bacon Ranch Sliders; Mozzillas (mozzarella sticks); and Bone-in Wings tossed in Buffalo Sauce. A shareable, mix-and-match category that adds a social dining dimension Denny’s hasn’t really had before.

The Returning Classics

The Clock’s Off Menu doesn’t just add new items — it makes the whole diner menu available without time constraints. That means longtime favorites are now explicitly on the table at any hour:

  • Moons Over My Hammy — Ham, scrambled eggs, Swiss and American cheese on grilled sourdough with hash browns
  • Country Fried Steak & Eggs — Country-fried chopped beef steak smothered in country gravy with eggs, hash browns, and bread
  • Slamburger — Beef patty, hash browns, egg, bacon, and American cheese on a brioche bun with wavy-cut fries
  • BBQ Bacon Chicken Sandwich — Grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, bacon, aged white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickles on brioche with fries
  • 8-oz Sirloin Steak — Seasoned sirloin with two sides and dinner bread

Two New Slammin’ Meal Deals Under $10

Alongside the Clock’s Off launch, Denny’s is expanding its Slammin’ Meal Deals Under $10 with two new additions:

The Rise & Slide — Three toasted brioche sliders filled with scrambled eggs, melted American cheese, and applewood-smoked bacon with a smoky glaze, served with hash browns. A compact, slider-format breakfast that works equally well at noon.

Strawberry Cheesecake Scoop Pancakes — Two buttermilk pancakes with cheesecake bites topped with premium strawberry ice cream, vanilla cream, and strawberry sauce — the dessert-pancake concept from the Scoop Slam, now available in the value lineup.

The Bigger Picture: Project Grand Slam

The Clock’s Off launch is part of a broader strategic initiative Denny’s is calling Project Grand Slam — a 24-month roadmap announced in April 2026 by new President and CEO Christopher Bode. The plan includes culinary innovation, digital transformation, and a push to modernize what’s been a stagnating family dining brand. The Clock’s Off Menu is its most visible consumer-facing move so far.

The Bottom Line

Denny’s Clock’s Off Menu is live now at participating locations nationwide. New items — Strawberry Cheesecake Scoop Slam, Salted Caramel Cold Brew Shake, BBQ Cookout Classic Burger, and Diner Dipper Selections — join the all-day menu alongside returning classics with no mealtime restrictions. Two new Slammin’ Meal Deals Under $10 are also available now. Sign up for Denny’s Rewards for a free dessert or kid’s meal.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Food of Celebration: What We Eat When It Matters Most

Fresh summer berries — the strawberries, blueberries, and cherries that fill the most iconic Fourth of July pies and desserts — are among the most antioxidant-dense foods available in any season. Blueberries in particular contain some of the highest concentrations of anthocyanins of any commonly consumed fruit, with peak-season fresh blueberries delivering measurably higher levels of these antioxidants than frozen or out-of-season alternatives. The tradition of the summer berry pie is, nutritionally, one of the more defensible dessert traditions available — particularly when made with a filling that allows the fruit’s natural flavor to be the primary pleasure rather than masking it with excessive sugar.

Grilled Hot Honey Chicken

Honey is a natural sweetener that provides trace amounts of antioxidants and antimicrobial compounds, and its natural sugars caramelize beautifully on the grill without requiring any refined sugar additions. Using apple cider vinegar in the marinade not only adds brightness but provides acetic acid, which research suggests may support blood sugar regulation—making this bold, indulgent-tasting glaze more nutritionally interesting than it appears.
