Checkers and Rally’s Just Upgraded Their $4 Meal Deal — And the Math Is Hard to Argue With

Healthy Fact of the Day

The $4 Unbeatable Meal Deal is a strong value, but four items in one sitting is a lot of food. The Loaded Tender Wrap on its own is a reasonable fast food meal — a chicken tender, cheese, bacon, and ranch in a tortilla covers protein, fat, and carbs without the additional Chicken Bites and fries on top. If you're sharing with someone, splitting the Chicken Bites and fries between two people while each ordering your own entrée is a smart way to take advantage of the deal without overeating. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is also worth considering as your entrée — the heat tends to naturally slow you down, which makes it easier to stop before finishing everything in the bag.

While most fast food chains have been raising prices and quietly shrinking portions, Checkers and Rally’s just went in the opposite direction.

The chain brought back its $4 Unbeatable Meal Deal on July 16 at participating locations nationwide — and this time it comes with a brand-new entrée option, a returning fan-favorite burger, and new Cheesy Potato Bites as a standalone snack. Four items for $4. No app required, no promo code, no loyalty membership.

“Value has always been part of our DNA, but today’s guests expect more than just a low price point — they want a meal that’s packed with flavor and satisfaction,” said Scott Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer of Checkers Drive-In Restaurants. “While others are treating value as a limited-time promotion, we’re committed to delivering great food and great value.”

The $4 Unbeatable Meal Deal

For $4 — or $5 in select higher-cost markets like Los Angeles — the Unbeatable Meal Deal includes:

  • Your choice of entrée: Classic Burger, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, or the new Loaded Tender Wrap
  • 8-piece Chicken Bites
  • Value-size Famous Seasoned Fries
  • 16-oz fountain drink

That’s four separate items for $4. For context, a single combo meal at most competing fast food chains now runs $10 to $14.

The New Entrée: Loaded Tender Wrap

The headliner addition to the meal deal is the Loaded Tender Wrap — a brand-new item making its debut alongside this promotion. It features a fry-seasoned chicken tender, melted cheddar cheese, a crispy bacon strip, and ranch, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.

The “fry-seasoned” detail is the distinguishing factor. Checkers coats the chicken tender in the same seasoning blend used on its Famous Seasoned Fries — which are genuinely one of the most distinctive fries in fast food — giving the wrap a flavor signature that doesn’t exist anywhere else on the menu.

The Returning Fan Favorite: Super Loaded Buford

Back by popular demand is the Super Loaded Buford — one of Checkers’ most indulgent signature burgers and a cult favorite among regulars. It stacks two large beef patties, two slices of American cheese, caramelized onions, crispy-fried onion tanglers, Famous Seasoned Fries, two bacon strips, dill pickles, ketchup, and mayo on a toasted bakery-style bun. It is, objectively, a lot of burger.

New Snack: Cheesy Potato Bites ($2.99)

Also new to the menu: Cheesy Potato Bites — crispy panko-breaded bites made from potato and cheddar cheese. At $2.99, they work as a shareable side or a standalone snack and add a potato-and-cheese pairing to the menu that’s a natural companion for the seasoned fries that already define the Checkers brand.

The Bottom Line

Checkers and Rally’s $4 Unbeatable Meal Deal — with the new Loaded Tender Wrap, 8-piece Chicken Bites, Famous Seasoned Fries, and a drink — is available now at participating locations nationwide for a limited time. The Super Loaded Buford is also back, and Cheesy Potato Bites are new. At a time when fast food value is hard to come by, $4 for four items is a number worth paying attention to.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
