Frosty Apple Cinnamon Margarita

While the classic margarita originated in Mexico, this apple twist pays homage to American fall flavors, creating a unique fusion drink. For an extra apple kick, try using apple-flavored tequila.

Ingredients

 

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz cinnamon simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 green apple, diced (plus slices for garnish)
  • Cinnamon sugar for rim
  • Cinnamon stick for garnish

 

For cinnamon simple syrup:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Make cinnamon simple syrup: Combine water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. Cool and strain.

  2. Rim a margarita glass with lime juice, then dip in cinnamon sugar.

  3. In a blender, combine tequila, apple cider, lime juice, cinnamon simple syrup, diced apple, and ice.

  4. Blend until smooth and frosty.

  5. Pour into the prepared glass.

  6. Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick.
