Taco Bell’s Newest Baja Blast Flavor Comes With a Celebrity Co-Sign

Healthy Fact of the Day

Specialty and limited-time sodas can carry just as much added sugar as their classic counterparts, and it's easy to lose track of portion size with a large fountain fill-up. If you want to enjoy a new flavor without overdoing the sugar, consider ordering a smaller size, asking for it over extra ice to stretch the drink further, or splitting a large size with a friend. Balancing a sugary drink with water throughout the rest of the day is also an easy way to keep things in check.

Taco Bell’s Baja Blast has built a reputation few fast food drinks ever reach. It’s been a menu fixture for more than two decades, spawning spinoffs, permanent flavor additions, and a fan base that treats the tropical lime soda like a personality trait.

Now the chain is adding a new chapter to that story, and this time it’s coming with some serious star power behind it.

A New Flavor, Backed by a Pop Star

Taco Bell is partnering with Olivia Rodrigo, a self-described longtime Baja Blast fan, to launch a brand-new flavor inspired by her latest album and upcoming music festival. The result is a bright pink twist on the original called “You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast.”

Despite the pink hue and Rodrigo’s connection to the viral dirty soda trend, this isn’t a creamy mix-in style drink. Instead, it blends the classic tropical lime Baja Blast flavor with pink lemonade, giving it a tart, fruity spin on the original formula.

Why This Release Is Different

Baja Blast has expanded before, with spinoffs like a gelato, a pie, and Baja Midnight, which became the first new permanent Baja Blast flavor when it launched during the soda’s 21st anniversary. But this new pink lemonade version marks something new entirely: it’s set to be Taco Bell’s first-ever limited-time Baja Blast flavor, meaning it won’t stick around as a permanent menu fixture like its predecessors.

Where and When to Get It

The rollout starts small. Beginning August 29, the drink will debut exclusively at Taco Bell’s Live Más Cafés, the chain’s beverage-focused concept locations, with availability limited to Southern California, Dallas, Houston, and Las Vegas.

From there, it expands nationwide on September 24, when the drink becomes available at Taco Bell locations across the country for a limited time.

The Takeaway

Between the celebrity partnership and the first-of-its-kind limited-time status, this new Baja Blast flavor is generating buzz well beyond the usual fast food drink launch. Fans eager to try it will need to wait a few extra weeks for nationwide access, but for a drink with this kind of following, that’s unlikely to slow anyone down.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Spicy Chicken McNuggets Are Officially Back at McDonald’s

Fried, breaded items paired with a bold dipping sauce can add up in sodium fairly quickly, especially if you’re ordering a larger nugget size. To keep things balanced, consider going with a smaller portion of nuggets, using the sauce sparingly rather than dipping every bite, and pairing the order with a side salad or apple slices instead of fries to add some fiber back into the meal.

Why You’re Supposed to Let Meat Rest (And What Happens If You Don’t)

Letting meat rest before slicing helps retain more of its natural juices, which also means retaining more of the B vitamins and minerals like iron and zinc that would otherwise be lost onto the cutting board — and resting meat away from direct heat also reduces the formation of certain compounds linked to prolonged high-heat exposure.
