McDonald’s Is Bringing Caesar Back — In the Best Way Possible

Healthy Fact of the Day

Of the three new Caesar items, the Caesar Snack Wrap is the lightest option — a single McCrispy Strip with lettuce, cheese, and Caesar Sauce in a tortilla typically comes in around 400 calories, making it a more manageable choice than the full Bacon Caesar McCrispy sandwich. If you're ordering the à la carte Caesar Sauce dip cup with McCrispy Strips, the strips themselves are one of McDonald's higher-protein, lower-calorie chicken options. Keeping the sauce portion small — using it as a dip rather than pouring it over everything — is the easiest way to enjoy the Caesar flavor without significantly increasing the calorie count of your meal.

Caesar is returning to the Golden Arches. Just not as a salad.

McDonald’s quietly discontinued its salad lineup in 2020, and the Chicken Caesar was among the most mourned. For years, fans posted on Reddit asking when it would come back. Starting July 21, McDonald’s is answering — with a brand-new Caesar Sauce and three Caesar-flavored menu items launching for a limited time at participating locations nationwide.

It’s not the salad. It might be better.

The New Caesar Sauce

At the center of the launch is the new Caesar Sauce — a creamy blend of Parmesan, lemon, and garlic that McDonald’s developed specifically to stand on its own as a dipping sauce while also working as a topping across the chicken lineup. It’s available à la carte as a dip cup for McNuggets, McCrispy Strips, or anything else you want to dunk, and it’s built into three new limited-time menu items launching the same day.

The Three New Caesar Items

Bacon Caesar McCrispy — The flagship of the launch: a crispy McCrispy filet topped with Caesar Sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, shredded lettuce, Roma tomato, crispy onions, and crinkle-cut pickles on a toasted potato roll. The combination of Caesar Sauce with bacon and pickles is an unexpected but compelling flavor pairing — the salty, tangy Caesar against the crunch of the pickles and the richness of the bacon.

Caesar Snack Wrap — A McCrispy Strip with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and Caesar Sauce, all rolled in a flour tortilla. At $2.99, it’s the entry-level way to try the new sauce without committing to a full sandwich. The Caesar Snack Wrap is also a natural dupe for the chicken Caesar wraps that have become one of the most popular lunch options at fast casual chains like Sweetgreen and Jimmy John’s — now available at McDonald’s drive-thrus.

McCrispy Strips with Caesar Sauce — The recently revamped McCrispy Strips — now crunchier thanks to a new Panko breading following customer feedback — paired with the Caesar Sauce for dipping. If previous McCrispy Strips sauce launches are any guide, this will be the most popular à la carte combination of the bunch.

Why This Launch Makes Sense Right Now

McDonald’s has been aggressively building out its chicken platform throughout 2026. McCrispy Strips launched earlier this year, the Snack Wrap returned to strong reception, and the chain has been rotating sauce-forward limited-time launches — Hot Honey, Buffalo Ranch, Gold Sauce — as the centerpiece of each new chicken moment.

Caesar is the natural next flavor to add to that rotation. It’s one of the most universally recognized flavors in American dining, it translates seamlessly to chicken applications, and it’s been notably absent from the fast food drive-thru format despite being everywhere else in the lunch category.

For fans who’ve been asking when their McDonald’s Caesar salad would come back — this is the answer. And it starts next Monday.

The Bottom Line

McDonald’s Caesar Sauce, Bacon Caesar McCrispy, Caesar Snack Wrap, and McCrispy Strips with Caesar Sauce launch July 21 at participating locations nationwide for a limited time. Mark your calendar — and if the Caesar Snack Wrap sells at $2.99 like its predecessors, it’s one of the better value items McDonald’s has offered this summer.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

Shrimp is one of the leanest proteins available, low in calories while delivering high-quality protein, selenium, and iodine. Using buttermilk in the dredge rather than a heavy batter creates a lighter, thinner coating that crisps beautifully without absorbing excessive oil. The cabbage adds fiber and vitamin C, making this indulgent-tasting taco more nutritionally balanced than it appears.

The Picnic Reimagined: Food Worth Eating Outside

Research on eating environment and meal satisfaction consistently finds that meals eaten outdoors — in natural settings with exposure to sunlight and fresh air — are associated with lower stress levels, better appetite regulation, and higher overall meal satisfaction compared to meals eaten indoors. The specific exposure to natural light during outdoor eating supports circadian rhythm regulation and vitamin D synthesis, making the outdoor meal a health practice as well as a pleasurable one. The blanket on the grass is, in other words, not just a romantic choice — it is a physiologically beneficial one.
