KFC Is Offering Five Chicken Tenders for $5 — But Only Through June 8

Healthy Fact of the Day

Chicken tenders are one of the more protein-dense items you can order at a fast food chain, but the breading adds calories and sodium quickly. At KFC, pairing your tenders with a green beans or corn on the cob side instead of mashed potatoes or mac and cheese significantly improves the nutritional profile of the meal without giving up any of the chicken. If you're watching sodium, skipping or going light on the dipping sauce is also an easy way to trim the overall intake — the tenders themselves have plenty of seasoning built in.

A solid KFC deal is live right now, and the math is hard to argue with.

KFC Rewards members can get five Original Recipe Chicken Tenders for $5 via the KFC website or mobile app through June 8, 2026. The deal is listed in the app and on KFC’s website as “The $5 Big Dunk” — a nod to the NBA Playoffs happening right now — and includes a choice of two dipping sauces alongside the five tenders.

How Good Is the Value?

At a single KFC location, one Original Recipe Chicken Tender runs about $2.69, which means five would normally cost roughly $13.45. Getting all five for $5 is a significant discount — especially for a protein-forward meal that actually fills you up.

For comparison, KFC is also currently offering an 8-piece Tenders Build-A-Bucket for $20, which includes four individual sides, four biscuits, and four sauces. That’s a better deal for a group — but for a solo or two-person order, the $5 five-tender deal is the easier, lower-commitment option.

Which Sauces to Try

The deal comes with a choice of two dipping sauces — and this is a good opportunity to try KFC’s two newest additions:

Honey Chili Crisp — A sweet-and-spicy blend with the umami depth that’s made chili crisp a pantry staple in millions of American kitchens. One of the more interesting sauces KFC has released in recent memory.

Jalapeño Ranch — A creamy ranch with jalapeño heat. Familiar enough to feel comfortable, different enough to be worth ordering at least once.

Both launched alongside KFC’s return of fried pickles and Prickly Pear Lemonade earlier this month and are available for a limited time.

The Bottom Line

Five KFC Original Recipe Chicken Tenders for $5, available through the app or KFC’s website through June 8. Add the new Honey Chili Crisp or Jalapeño Ranch sauce on the side — and if you haven’t downloaded the KFC app yet, this deal is a solid reason to finally do it.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Underrated Pleasure of Eating Alone

Research on mindful eating — the practice of eating with full attention to the sensory experience of the food — consistently demonstrates improvements in eating satisfaction, more accurate recognition of hunger and satiety signals, reduced tendency toward overeating, and greater enjoyment of food compared to distracted eating. The solo meal eaten without screens or competing activities is the natural context for mindful eating — making the deliberate choice to eat alone with full attention one of the most accessible and most evidence-supported practices for improving the quality of one’s relationship with food.

One Pot Shrimp & Sausage Jambalaya

Shrimp delivers around 20 grams of protein per 3-ounce serving with minimal fat, making it one of the leanest, most protein-rich seafood options available. Cooking rice directly in spiced broth rather than water means every grain is seasoned from the inside out—no added butter or cream sauce required to achieve a deeply rich, satisfying result.
