Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

First Watch Just Brought Back Its Beloved Fall Menu

Seasonal pancake and griddle dishes tend to be higher in sugar and refined carbs than First Watch’s other menu options, especially once syrup and toppings are factored in. Balancing out a heavier breakfast with a lighter lunch later in the day can also help keep things in check.

Bourbon, used in baking, contributes complex flavor from its barrel aging while much of the alcohol evaporates during the 45-minute bake—leaving behind warm vanilla, caramel, and oak notes that deepen the cherry’s natural flavor complexity without significant alcohol content in the finished dessert.
