Cranberry Mule

Healthy Fact of the Day

While this is a cocktail, cranberries offer health benefits including antioxidants and compounds that support urinary health. Fresh lime adds vitamin C. Ginger may aid digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties. To make healthier, use less simple syrup or substitute with sugar-free alternatives. For a mocktail version, replace vodka with sparkling water. Consider using fresh-pressed cranberry juice instead of sweetened versions. The rosemary garnish provides beneficial oils. Remember to enjoy alcoholic beverages in moderation and stay hydrated.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz cranberry juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice

  • Crystallized cranberries for garnish

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Unwritten Rules of a Great Meal

Research on the social dimensions of eating consistently finds that meals eaten in the company of others — with genuine conversation, without screens, and at an unhurried pace — are associated with better digestion, lower cortisol levels, and greater meal satisfaction than meals eaten alone or in distracted silence. The psychological safety and connection of a shared meal appears to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, supporting the relaxed state in which digestion functions optimally. The company at the table, in other words, is part of the nutrition.
