Cinnamon & Sugar Donut Bread

Healthy Fact of the Day

Cinnamon & Sugar Donut Bread is a delicious treat, but you can make it lighter with a few simple swaps. Use whole wheat flour for added fiber, or replace half the sugar with a natural sweetener like honey or maple syrup. Swapping Greek yogurt for some of the butter keeps it moist while reducing fat. Cinnamon itself is rich in antioxidants and may help regulate blood sugar levels, making this a cozy indulgence with a hint of health benefits. Enjoy in moderation for a satisfying, homemade treat!

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1 cup granulated sugar

    • 1 tbsp baking powder

    • 0.5 tsp salt

    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

    • 1 cup milk

    • 2 tsp vanilla extract

    • 1 large egg

    • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted

    • 0.25 cup granulated sugar

    • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon

    Directions

    • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a standard loaf pan to prepare for the batter.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon to form your dry mixture.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vanilla extract, egg, and melted butter to make the wet ingredients.
    • Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until the mixture is fully combined.
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula for an even surface.
    • Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it evenly over the top of the batter.
    • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean from the bread loaf.
    • Once baked, allow the donut bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Grass-fed beef offers real nutritional advantages over conventional grain-fed beef — including higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and a leaner fat profile. If you’re grilling this summer, pairing a grass-fed frank with a whole grain bun and topping it with mustard and fresh vegetables instead of high-sodium relishes is an easy way to make the meal more balanced. Keeping portions in check and rounding out your cookout spread with grilled vegetables, fruit, and water-forward drinks goes a long way toward a healthier summer grilling season overall.

    Garlic Butter Dinner Rolls

Making dinner rolls from scratch gives you complete control over what goes in—no preservatives, no additives, and you can reduce the butter or swap in whole wheat flour for a portion of the all-purpose flour to add fiber. Homemade bread is also surprisingly satisfying in smaller portions because the flavor and texture are so much more developed than store-bought alternatives.
