Chocolate Mousse Brownies

Healthy Fact of the Day

Dark chocolate contains antioxidants called flavonoids that may support heart health and brain function. Using quality cocoa powder and semisweet chocolate enhances both flavor and potential health benefits.

These Chocolate Mousse Brownies take classic brownies to the next level with a layer of silky, cloud-like chocolate mousse that creates the perfect contrast of textures. The dense, fudgy brownie base provides the perfect foundation for the light, airy mousse topping, creating a dessert that’s both sophisticated and deeply satisfying. It’s the kind of show-stopping dessert that makes any occasion feel special and leaves everyone asking for the recipe.

If you love this rich chocolate indulgence, you’ll also enjoy our Cheesecake Brownies with their similar brownie base and creamy topping combination. For another chocolate masterpiece, try the Chocolate Cherry Upside Down Cake that delivers bold chocolate flavors with fruity sweetness. The No-Bake Chocolate Eclair Cake offers similar creamy chocolate layers in a no-bake format that’s equally impressive.

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

    • 1 cup granulated sugar

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour

    • 1/3 cup cocoa powder

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • 2 eggs

    • 1/2 tsp baking powder

    • 1/4 tsp salt

    • 1 cup heavy cream

    • 6 oz semisweet chocolate

    Directions

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan for the brownies.
    • In a bowl, melt the butter and mix it with sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, stirring them in.
    • Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then mix until just combined to form the brownie batter.
    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
    • While the brownies cool, melt the semisweet chocolate and allow it to cool for a few minutes before continuing.
    • Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form; gently fold in the cooled melted chocolate to create the mousse.
    • Spread the chocolate mousse evenly over the cooled brownies, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
    • Cut the chilled mousse brownies into squares and serve with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
