Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Arborio rice
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth (low-sodium)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, warm the chicken or vegetable broth over low heat. Keep it on low heat throughout the cooking process.
  2. In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the Arborio rice and cook for 1-2 minutes, ensuring the grains are well-coated with the oil and garlic.
  5. Pour in the dry white wine and cook for about 2 minutes, or until most of the liquid has been absorbed.

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Properly preheated pans require less added fat to prevent sticking, reducing overall calorie content while creating the high-heat sear that develops complex flavors and locks in moisture, and the Maillard reaction that occurs at correct temperatures creates beneficial antioxidant compounds that only form when proteins and sugars interact above 300°F.
