Reviving Stale Bread
Don’t throw away that stale loaf of bread just yet! You can easily revive it and make it taste fresh again with this tip:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Run the stale bread quickly under cold running water, making sure not to soak it completely. Just a light sprinkle will do.
- Place the dampened bread in the preheated oven directly on the oven racks. If you have a baking sheet, you can place it on that.
- Bake for 5-10 minutes, or until the crust becomes crispy and the inside regains moisture. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
- Once it’s done, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
The steam from the dampened bread will soften the inside, and the oven will crisp up the crust, giving your bread a fresh taste and texture. Enjoy your “new” bread with butter, as a sandwich, or as a crunchy side to your favorite soup or salad.
