Salted Watermelon Margarita

Watermelon also has a high water content, making it hydrating. While this cocktail should be enjoyed in moderation due to its alcohol content, using fresh watermelon juice adds natural sweetness and nutrients compared to many pre-made drink mixes.

Ingredients

 

  • 2 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1 tbsp agave nectar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt for rimming
  • Watermelon wedge and lime slice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend watermelon cubes until smooth. Strain to remove pulp if desired.

  2. Rim a glass with salt: rub the rim with a lime wedge and dip in salt.

  3. In a shaker, combine 1/2 cup watermelon juice, tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and agave nectar.

  4. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

  5. Fill the prepared glass with ice.

  6. Strain the margarita mixture into the glass.

  7. Garnish with a watermelon wedge and lime slice.

  8. Serve immediately and enjoy responsibly.
