Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

Healthy Fact of the Day

While delicious, Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers are high in calories and fat. To make them healthier, consider using turkey bacon or thinly sliced prosciutto for less fat. Opt for low-fat cream cheese and reduce the amount of cheddar. Jalapeños are rich in vitamin C and capsaicin, which may boost metabolism. For a lighter version, try stuffing with a mixture of Greek yogurt and feta cheese instead of cream cheese. You could also bake the jalapeños without bacon and sprinkle with crispy turkey bacon bits after cooking. Remember, moderation is key – enjoy these as an occasional treat rather than a regular snack.

Ingredients

  • 12 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 slices bacon, cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cut jalapeños in half lengthwise; remove seeds and membranes.

  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, garlic, cilantro, paprika, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.

  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.

  5. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a half slice of bacon.

  6. Arrange poppers on the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Brush poppers lightly with olive oil.

  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bacon is crispy and jalapeños are tender.

  9. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end.

  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Bite into these Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers and experience a flavor explosion that dances on your taste buds! The crispy bacon, creamy cheese, and spicy kick of jalapeño create a perfect trifecta of taste and texture. It’s a party in your mouth where every guest is the life of the celebration. Whether you’re tailgating, hosting a game night, or just craving a zesty snack, these poppers are guaranteed to disappear faster than you can say “touchdown”!

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
