Zesty Tuna Tartare with Asian Flair

Tuna is an excellent source of high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids. It's also rich in selenium, vitamin B12, and other essential nutrients.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 lb sushi-grade tuna, diced into 1/4-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp black sesame seeds

 

For the dressing:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp wasabi paste (adjust to taste)
  • Juice of 1 lime

 

For serving:

  • Wonton crisps or rice crackers
  • Micro greens for garnish

 

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together all dressing ingredients until well combined.

  2. In a large bowl, gently mix the diced tuna, red onion, and cilantro.

  3. Pour the dressing over the tuna mixture and fold gently to coat evenly.

  4. Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

  5. Just before serving, fold in the diced avocado.

  6. Divide the tartare among serving plates or small bowls.

  7. Sprinkle black sesame seeds over each portion.

  8. Garnish with micro greens.

  9. Serve immediately with wonton crisps or rice crackers on the side.
