Cinnamon Baked Apples

Cinnamon Baked Apples are a delightful and nutritious dessert that brings out the natural sweetness of apples while adding warm and comforting flavors. Apples are a good source of fiber and various antioxidants, making this a guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

 

  • 4 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 2 tablespoons raisins or dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Vanilla yogurt or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact to form a well for the filling.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together chopped nuts, raisins or dried cranberries, honey or maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.

  4. Stuff each cored apple with the nut and fruit mixture.

  5. Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish.

  6. Pour water into the bottom of the baking dish to prevent the apples from drying out.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender.

  8. Remove the baked apples from the oven and let them cool slightly.

  9. Serve the Cinnamon Baked Apples warm, optionally topped with a dollop of vanilla yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
