Fluffy Pancake Bread

Healthy Fact of the Day

Pancake bread is a creative fusion of two beloved breakfast staples – pancakes and bread. This delightful twist combines the fluffy texture and sweet maple flavor of pancakes with the convenience and portability of a loaf of bread, making it a perfect treat for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • Butter for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle 1/4 cup of maple syrup over the batter, then use a knife to swirl the syrup into the batter.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top and drizzle with the remaining 1/4 cup of maple syrup. Swirl the syrup into the batter once more.
  7. Bake the pancake bread for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it and transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice the fluffy pancake bread and serve warm with butter and extra maple syrup, if desired.

Indulge in the whimsical deliciousness of this fluffy pancake bread, where every slice reveals a delightful swirl of maple syrup and every bite transports you to a cozy breakfast nook filled with the comforting aroma of freshly made pancakes – a treat so delightful, you’ll want to make every morning a pancake bread kind of morning!

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

Aldi Is Selling $5 Crystal Clear Ice Cubes — And the Internet Can’t Decide How to Feel About It

Clear ice made with reverse osmosis purified water isn’t just prettier — it’s genuinely cleaner. Standard tap water ice can contain trace minerals, dissolved solids, and in some municipalities, trace contaminants that are technically within safe limits but contribute to the off-flavors many people notice in their home ice. RO-purified ice melts more slowly, which means less dilution in your drink over time — a meaningful benefit if you’re drinking something you want to actually taste. For a healthier cocktail moment, use clear ice in sparkling water with a squeeze of citrus and a sprig of mint for a genuinely beautiful non-alcoholic drink that feels special without the alcohol.

The Last Thing on the Plate: A Love Letter to Dessert

Dark chocolate — one of the most universally beloved dessert ingredients — contains significant concentrations of flavanols, a class of antioxidant compounds that have been associated with improved cardiovascular health, reduced blood pressure, and enhanced cognitive function in multiple clinical studies. The flavanol content of dark chocolate is inversely related to processing — less processed, higher cacao percentage chocolate retains more of the compounds present in the raw cacao bean. A small serving of genuinely high-quality dark chocolate (70 percent cacao or higher) consumed as part of a balanced diet is one of the more evidence-supported dietary indulgences available — making dessert, at its best, both a pleasure and a health practice simultaneously.
