Sticky Honey Garlic Pork

Healthy Fact of the Day

Pork tenderloin is a lean protein choice. For less sugar, reduce the honey slightly or replace half with pureed fruit like pineapple. Serve with steamed veggies for a balanced plate.

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound pork tenderloin

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 4 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1/3 cup honey

    • 1/4 cup soy sauce

    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

    • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

    • 2 tablespoons water

    • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

    • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

    Directions

    • Cut the pork tenderloin into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper according to taste. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the pork to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
    • Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about one minute.
    • In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Add the mixture to the skillet and bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
    • Combine cornstarch and water in another small bowl to make a slurry. Slowly add the slurry to the skillet, stirring constantly until thickened to a sticky glaze consistency.
    • Return the cooked pork to the skillet, tossing to coat thoroughly in the honey garlic sauce. Cook for another 3-5 minutes.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve the sticky honey garlic pork hot with steamed rice or noodles.

    Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
