Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!

The Strange Science of Why We Crave What We Crave

Research on sleep and food cravings consistently finds that a single night of insufficient sleep significantly increases cravings for high-calorie, high-sugar foods the following day — driven by elevated ghrelin, reduced leptin, and increased activation of reward-related brain regions in response to food cues. Building the cream sauce in the same skillet as the beef means you need less cream than a separate sauce would require, since the browned beef drippings add depth and body that carry the flavor further with a lighter hand.

If you’re ordering a box this week, the Blueberry Pancake Cookie is the lightest-tasting option of the bunch, with the fruit-forward buttermilk glaze offering a slightly less heavy finish than the more indulgent cereal and Pop-Tarts options. Pairing any of the sweeter items with a glass of water rather than a sugary drink keeps the overall treat more balanced.
