Healthy Fact of the Day

Chocolate-Peppermint Fudge is a delightful treat that combines the rich flavor of chocolate with the cool and refreshing taste of peppermint. While this fudge is a sweet indulgence, it can be enjoyed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted (for drizzling, optional)
  •

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir continuously until the chocolate and butter are melted and the mixture is smooth.

  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in peppermint extract.

  4. Fold in crushed candy canes or peppermint candies.

  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

  6. If desired, drizzle melted white chocolate over the top of the fudge for an extra layer of sweetness.

  7. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 3 hours or until set.

  8. Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the dish.

  9. Place the fudge on a cutting board and cut it into squares.

  10. Serve the Chocolate-Peppermint Fudge as a delightful holiday treat or sweet indulgence.

Enjoy the perfect combination of chocolate and peppermint in every delicious bite!

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
