- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup honey (or more to taste)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 10-12 fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice, water, and honey. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the honey has dissolved and the mixture is warm (do not boil).

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the lemon mixture cool slightly.

In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries and basil leaves. Pulse until the strawberries are pureed and the basil is finely chopped.
