Strawberry Basil Lemonade

Healthy Fact of the Day

This refreshing lemonade is packed with vitamin C from the lemons and strawberries, while the basil provides antioxidants and a unique flavor twist. Honey is used as a natural sweetener, making it a healthier alternative to sugary sodas or juices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey (or more to taste)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 10-12 fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice, water, and honey. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the honey has dissolved and the mixture is warm (do not boil).

  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the lemon mixture cool slightly.

  3. In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries and basil leaves. Pulse until the strawberries are pureed and the basil is finely chopped.

  4. Add the strawberry-basil puree to the lemon mixture and stir well to combine.

  5. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if desired.

  6. Pour the strawberry basil lemonade into a pitcher or individual glasses filled with ice cubes.

  7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and lemon slices (optional).

Enjoy this delightful and thirst-quenching strawberry basil lemonade as a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage for any occasion!

Tip of the Day

“Always let your meat rest before slicing.”

Whether you're roasting a chicken, grilling steak, or baking pork tenderloin, letting cooked meat rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing allows the juices to redistribute evenly. This simple step keeps your meat juicy and tender, ensuring every bite is flavorful and moist. Bonus: It gives you a moment to plate your sides or garnish for a perfect presentation!
